Discovering Lora Leigh

It was the end of June, 2007. I was a little tight for money because I was saving like crazy to buy my first house. What’s a woman to do when she’s desperate for some romance reading material and promised herself that she wouldn’t buy romance books for a while?

Off I went to one of my favourite places to hang out – Chapters. After some serious browsing (which can and has taken hours) where none of my preferred authors had a new release, I settled on Forbidden Pleasures from the Bound Hearts series. Many people were there that day, so I parked myself on a window ledge (which jutted out fairly far, but was thanklessly hard) and settled  in for hopefully a good read.

Well holy cow my expectations were blown away – the book was smoking hot! Yes, there was a bit of squirming and squeezing of my legs together. I was so turned on that I was afraid it would be apparent to other people. Quite a few times I stopped reading to nonchalantly (I hoped) glance around.

It took me another two days of rushing home from work, hastily wolfing down supper, and driving as fast as I could (without getting stopped) to the closest Chapters (15-minute drive at the time) to finish the book. Thank goodness for extended hours in the summer! Why, oh why, couldn’t I just live there?

Deciding to save time, gas, and the environment (and the other drivers in my way), I restricted my reading frenzy trips to occasional forays. So I turned to the internet and found that she has ebooks available from Ellora’s Cave. Hungry for more of her books, I started collecting Lora Leigh whenever I could afford it.

That is how I discovered Lora Leigh, one of my favourite authors today.
